The large slab for display crystals works best where the complete base or length is supported and damp cloths or drinks remain out of reach.

What to know

Material: Selenite

Colour: White

Approximate size: 20cm

Finish: Polished surface

Design: Slab-shaped form

Stone origin: Morocco

Rather than moving it regularly, leave the slab on a sideboard where the edges are protected so the outline can be seen without stacking other objects on top. The large slab for display crystals works best with a little room between it and nearby ornaments where its natural markings remain easy to see. Give the large slab for display crystals a clear space on a dry shelf to reduce unnecessary handling. For this slab, use only light, dry objects if it acts as a display base—the broad surface and edges can still be marked by pressure or moisture.

Natural finish: Across the slab-shaped plate, colour can gather more strongly in one section, and the exact pattern will not repeat. No two examples of the slab-shaped plate will have colour in precisely the same places after cutting and polishing.

Cleaning and storage: Use a dry lint-free cloth without pressing on one corner; for the large slab for display crystals, jewellery dip, chemical cleaner and cleaning spray are unsuitable for selenite. For longer storage, leave the large slab for display crystals without stacking other stone pieces on top with enough room to lift it again without scraping an edge.
