The selenite rod has a long, narrow outline, with long bands and cloudy layers following the narrow length visible across it. The rod is listed at approximately 15cm, allowing for small differences around a natural stone edge.

Keep the rod in a long tray or on a shelf that supports the full length so the narrow tip is not left exposed. Supporting the full length also keeps the narrow outline easy to inspect. Do not let either end project beyond the shelf or tray. Avoid lifting the piece by one narrow tip since one narrow tip should not carry the weight. The selenite rod works best on a dry shelf with space around the shape and damp cloths or drinks remain out of reach.
Individual markings: Because each piece begins with a different section of natural selenite, the direction of fibres along the length will vary from piece to piece. No two examples of the selenite rod will carry exactly the same banding so the supplied item will remain individual.
Care: For routine care of the rod, lay the wand on a folded cloth and wipe along its length; keep oils, abrasive products and wet wipes away from the surface. For storage, keep the rod inside a lined tray away from heavier stones rather than placing it in a damp room or busy drawer.
